McCain’s answer to responding to a question about voting for the recovery.

I love how Obama is hammering home the connection to the bush and bush and Dutch years. He sounds good!

Wow. I am getting really riled up about mccain’s answers. He just said that we shouldn’t announce military strikes in Pakistan. So, what do we instead? Just attack Pakistan? I am so confused.

“this does not mean that we invite them
Over for tea.” absolutely! Talking does not mean giving credibility. Not if done right. Wow. Am loving this, though I am a little afraid that Obama is preaching to the choir with me.

She sent me a link from the Post about DC’s Rickey month. What a great idea.

Anyway, it got me thinking. And, as I mentioned earlier, I couldn’t get my drink of choice at Nick’s, so I decided to make myself a tasty alternative at home.

Honey syrup, Ginger, gin, ice, and lime juice. With a splash of bitters. Makes for a great, refreshing drink.

Surprisingly, it seemed to really go well with a bit of blue chip and guac.

In the future, I might want to add in a bit of soda water-if only I could make my own DIY setup! Alas, no space. Yes, this is me rejecting the idea of another kitchen gadget.

Wow, how frustrating. This game was crap. Terrible calls by the refs, bad plays, a generally ick game.

Still, it was great to be a part of the crowd, everyone in their crimson and cream, cheering and booing together. I am glad that I finally made it to a big ten game.

Also, there appears to be a good conservative trumpet player. She wears a full length skirt-but marches well with the others! It was fun to spot her in the line.

After the game, went to nicks with the gang. No simple syrup, so no rickeys. Why is it so hard to get a real cocktail?

Evidently, after I left, fights broke out and the night became quite silly. Glad to hear that everyone got out after me.

It always feels good when I am at the forefront of a movement. . . you know, like wearing a beard, cooking real food, that sort of thing. Well, the NYTimes has finally recognized me for the VWS. Yes, my trusty Vertical Workstation: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/18/health/nutrition/18fitness.html?ref=fashion

Turns out that other people are beginning to see the benefit of being active when working. In particular, I loved the quote about how walking helps mitigate mild ADD. I completely agree–it absolutely helps to focus the mind when confronting the dry reading of a case.

Admittedly, I am not sure if I can say I know what the Bush doctrine is. But, I am a bit concerned that she isn’t concerned with Christian extremism too.

It feels like they have had fewer commercial interuptions than with McCain.

Make government cool again. Wow. Yes. Absolutely.

No department if service. Sharp. Go expansion! We don’t want to say that government is the only option, but we do want to have actual support. Sheesh!

He is too articulate. Michael pointed out “range of ways”, should have said a lot of ways. Less articulate, but okay.

All in all, feeling about this.

Good job on keeping PhDs in the country. Not a softball question, and good answer.

You might notice that I am behind the eight ball on writing these out. Michael and I are dvring this event soas to remark on it.

Good joke, mr. McCain, with the fake snore about older Americans. That was sharp.

I respect his answer on admiring community organizers. And, actually agree re town halls.

Seriously? Did he just say that people aren’t joining the military because it is too small? Riskin asks: why doesn’t someone interrupt him? What happened to journalism in America?

Wow. McCain doesn’t want to set policies that support community volunterism. Serious? He will praise but not require companies to support.

I don’t like worm wood. Observation one.

My brother is a brewer and Chicago partisan. Michael Riskin, Megan, Shortie and I are enjoying a variety ofbeers that he has bottled in the past few months. The seizan needs a few more months of bottle conditioning.

We have yet to try the pooh beer, but am looking forward to it.

Power of Abstinence-Only Education September 1, 2008

So, it appears as though Palin’s 17 year old daughter is pregnant. In no way do I think that this is relevant to Sarah Palin’s capacity (or lack thereof) to hold the office of Vice President. I do believe, however, that it speaks to a fundamental flaw with Gov. Palin’s ideas: she, like much of the GOP, backs the idea of abstinence only education.

It is time to move away from the GOP’s failed policies and face reality. Abstinence Only Education, like many of the GOP’s positions, is based in some fantasy land. When was it that politics in America shifted? It used to be that the Dems were the idealists and dreamers and the Republicans kept the nation grounded. . . the roles have reversed and seem to be causing a breakdown of our society.
